Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino is just coming off of a win in her UFC debut against Leslie Smith at UFC 198 in Brazil. Immediately following her win she stated that she would love to fight in the UFC again at a catchweight of 140lbs, but first defend her Featherweight Invicta FC title. There is no word on the Invicta FC title defense to date, but there may be a line forming to fight Cyborg in the UFC.
For many years Cyborb has been the one to beat at 145lbs, many were critical of her decision to not try for Bantamweight (135lbs), which is the highest weight division in the UFC currently. Cyborg has stated numerous times that her reaching 135lbs would be very difficult. For her fight with Smith Cyborg weighed in at 139lbs, only 3 more than the limit of 136 for an official Bantamweight weigh in. Regardless, the news broke on Wednesday night during an episode of UFC Tonight, that there may be a new fight in the works for Cyborg.
Germaine de Randamie could be the next fighter to step into the Octagon to face Cyborg at 140lbs. This fight could be in the works and added to the UFC 201 card in Atlanta, GA. Germaine de Randamie is coming off of an impressive victory in her own fight at UFC Rotterdam, in which she won via first round TKO against Anna Elmose.
Following this report by the UFC Cyborg took to Twitter to deny the news, saying:

Also showing interest in a 140lb fight is former Champion Holly Holm. Holm spoke recently to Dave Ross on 120 Sports and said that she never told the UFC that she wouldn’t fight Cyborg at 140lbs, she just couldn’t commit at the time. She is open to the idea of that fight at a time that makes sense. Following her fight with Meisha Tate, in which Holm lost the Belt, she was determined to get a rematch. After she knew that was not an option Cyborg wasalready booked to fight Smith, so Holm took a fight with Valentina Shevchenko. Hopefully these two amazing fighters will be able to make this fight happen. It will certainly be a fan pleaser.
