It appears that Conor McGregor’s next fight could be in a courtroom. The UFC lightweight champ is reportedly being sued by a person who was hit with a drink that McGregor threw last year at the UFC 202 press conference. That one moment of anger has been the source of many problems for McGregor since it happened and continues to be.
Conor Mcgregor is the most popular fighter on planet earth and it seems that the notoriety means others are willing to take a shot at his fortunes. During that UFC 202 press conference, a man named William Pegg, who was a security guard at the Copperfield Theater, was hit by a flying Monster Energy can and is suing McGregor for being hit. McGregor’s camp and the camp of Nate Diaz began throwing water bottles and Monster drinks at one another following an argument at the press conference.
McGregor was fined by the Nevada State Athletic Commission as well for this incident. Pegg is asking for $95,000 in damages. How did he come up with this number you ask? Well, he based it off of McGregor’s purse for that fight with Diaz, which was 15 Million dollars. According to the first report by The Blast, Pegg stated that since McGregor was paid $15 million for the fight in which he was struck 166 times, each strike cost $90,000. The $5000 was due to medical expenses.
Conor McGregor is currently on a 100-foot yacht with his family following his loss to Floyd Mayweather.
